Dropped off my DC suitcase in Vancouver, picked up my pre-packed Asia luggage from Ricky's and Adrienne's place and headed back to YVR catch Cathay Pacific to Singapore. 40+ butt-numbing hours later we finally arrived in the steambath known as KL.
Added a 70 km taxi ride (100 MYR, ~ $32) before we reached our hotel in the Bukit Bintang shopping and entertainment district.
KL's shopping district has been victimized by globalization as all the familiar branded merchants blight its streets. Who needs or wants to see another Chanel, Louis Vitton, Burberry, Tiffany, or what-have-you branded store selling the same mercilessly mediocre mundane merchandise?
