Mundain, being the bargain hunter scored bigtime on this one!

Curiously, for such a highly rated and well known hotel, our tuk tuk driver had a hard time finding it...but finally after asking a few bewildered locals, we spotted it ourselves...
OK, so the joint looked a little bit shady but sometimes looks can be deceiving...
and hey, you know what? ...can't beat the price...2 nights at $27USD per night...I would seriously recommend to friends on a tight budget...

We paid our tuk tuk driver and hauled our luggage into the lobby...

A good sign...the patrons appeared very satisfied...smiles all around |
OK, so there really wasn't a lobby but the girls behind the bar were really friendly and efficient in serving customers and we were quickly whisked to our room...2 flights of stairs later.
But somehow, even though I found that our smallish room was neat, clean, and more than mundane enough for my taste, (not to mention the great breakfast included nor the best fresh brewed coffee in Cambodia), I got the feeling that Mrs. Mundain wasn't too thrilled about our accommodations...
...and for some reason like a broken record, the lyrics to the famous Eagles hit "Hotel California" kept coming into my head:
"Welcome to the Hotel California,
You can check out any time,
But you can never leave..."
We checked out right after breakfast the next morning...
...and checked in to "The Plantation Urban Resort and Spa"

Mundain always says, "A happy wife IS a happy life" (take note Alvin) |
