Palm Plantation Paradise

We arrived in Kota Kinabalu to be greeted by Jacquie and transported to Sepitang, about a 2 hour drive from KK.  It was late afternoon when we pulled into the KFC parking lot and the sun was low in the western horizon...

 Caroline and Ramle, whom we had never met, graciously invited us to spend  a night in the guest house located on their palm oil plantation...meeting them and the entire experience at their plantation was truly one of the highlights of our trip

to be welcomed by our host Ramle...oh my,  what a fabulous meal!!!

can you say Satay? chicken, lamb,, tripe...simply delicious

...a wonderful meal expertly prepared by Ramle & Caroline's cooks, 
... enjoying great company and fine wine,  in a tropical paradise...can life get any better?


   
the next morning...Ramle invited us for breakfast at his favorite local cafe

...then it was back to the plantation for a tour of the operations

the harvest...

the fruit is used in the manufacture of products from cooking oil to diesel additives


                                         A few days later...


...Ramle and Caroline were kind enough to invite us to join them at their yacht club

afterwards, our fabulous hosts Ramle and Caroline took us to a local restaurant...
